Nottingham Forest midfielder Ryan Yates is back in training and may be available for Sabri Lamouchi to pick this weekend.
Nottingham Forest midfielder Ryan Yates is ready to resume his breakthrough into the first-team this weekend.
After successful loan spells at Notts County and Scunthorpe United, Yates finally started to feature regularly in Forest’s first-team under the management of Martin O’Neill last season.

He then had to have an operation on his knee in the summer which has kept him out of the side so far this season.
Now he appears to be back available after the Reds published pictures of him training on Wednesday.
Forest face Wigan Athletic on Sunday at the DW Stadium in a 2pm kick-off.
Sabri Lamouchi’s side are in top form and whether Yates should be involved is the subject of some debate.

Delight
Forest fans were split between being delighted the midfielder is back available, and expressing disbelief at why some fans were so excited about the news.
It’s going to be a tough ask for Yates to get himself back into the first-team. Samba Sow picked up a knock against Brentford which may boost his chances slightly, but the likes of Alfa Semedo are also pushing hard for a start.

Lamouchi may be tempted to name Yates in the squad so that he can introduce him from the bench. This would be a good way to get some minutes into the 21-year-old’s legs having been out for so long.
Here is a look at the reaction from fans to Yates’ return…
