Nottingham Forest lost 1-0 against Wigan Athletic to see their unbeaten run extinguished at 10 Championship games at the DW Stadium.
The Latics secured all three points thanks to Jamal Lowe’s winning goal and although Forest might feel unlucky not to have had a second-half penalty, they simply didn’t test David Marshall enough.
Boss Sabri Lamouchi made five changes from the team that beat Brentford prior to the international break and his rotation policy didn’t really go according to plan.

One man who did get dropped to the bench for the game was Portuguese player Tiago Silva. The 26-year-old played arguably his best game against the Bees and can count himself extremely unfortunate.
When he did come on as a second-half substitute he looked bright and offered Forest lots of energy at both ends of the pitch. On his brief cameo performance alone he must be considered for a starting berth against Hull on Wednesday.
The supporters certainly enjoyed his performance. Many took to Twitter following the game to speak of their delight at seeing Silva give Forest some fresh impetus.

Here is a selection of Tweets from Forest supporters in response to Silva’s performance as a substitute against Wigan:
Think you have to find a way of getting Tiago silva into this #nffc team. There’s a touch of quality about everything he does, not sure you could say that about bostock today.

Tiago Silva gets better with each game. He’s a more mobile version of Joao. He was fantastic when he came on today. Rolls Royce of a player when he has the space to operate

One positive out of today was Tiago Silva. Was superb when he came on. #nffc

Silva – made an impact off the bench. Had more influence on the match in 34 minutes than he has in previous games when he has started. Clearly talented, has the ability to pull the strings, but hasn’t run the show for #NFFC (yet) hopefully more to come from him this season.

Not good enough from forest today, lacked quality in the final third, much better when grabban and Silva came on though
