Nottingham Forest slipped to a second successive defeat as Hull City ran out 2-1 winners at the City Ground last night. Goals from Josh Magennis and Jarrod Bowen consigned the Reds to a frustrating night.

Forest have now slipped to eighth in the Championship after fluffing their lines to go back into an automatic promotion place. Boss Sabri Lamouchi will need to arrest this mini-slump when Reading travel to Nottingham on Saturday.

A win never really looked on the cards for Forest who were sluggish and lacklustre throughout the contest. Even a red card for Magennis with 25 minutes to go couldn’t prove the catalyst for the Reds to claim something from the game.

Lewis Grabban, Tiago Silva and Joao Carvalho were all restored to the starting line-up but Forest once again failed to create a great deal in front of goal. Matty Cash looking the most likely to add to his goal tally for the night from a right-back position.

RONALDO NEEDS TO STOP WHINING.

One Forest player who desperately looks out of sorts right now is Joe Lolley. Last season he netted 12 goals and registered 12 assists and it was thought he’d be a massive player for the Reds this season.

He has found the net just three times in the league this season and he looks as though he is badly struggling with a drop in confidence.

Good players don’t become bad ones overnight, but Forest will hope that he rediscovers his form quickly ahead of some tough-looking fixtures.

Here is a selection of tweets regarding Lolley’s performance on a miserable night for the Reds:
