Nottingham Forest handed food left over from yesterday’s postponed game to charity.

Nottingham Forest announced a few hours after yesterday’s game with Reading at the City Ground was postponed that none of their food would be going to waste.

The Reds donated all the food which would’ve been wasted from yesterday’s game to Framework. They are a charity delivering housing, health, employment, support and care services to people with a diverse range of needs.

They are the same charity which organises the Big Sleep Out at the City Ground which is set to take place again on November 23.

The statement on the club’s official social media accounts read: “Game off but nothing goes to waste.

“NFFC CFO Samantha Gordon and NFFC Community CEO Graham Moran helped to hand out food left over from today’s postponed game to Framework.”

Considering another large crowd was expected at the City Ground for yesterday’s fixture, a significant amount of food is likely to have been ordered. This will have been warmly received by the charity.

Sabri Lamouchi’s side would’ve been hoping to bounce back from their recent defeats against Wigan Athletic and Hull City. However, they’ll now have to wait until next weekend when they travel to Kenilworth Road to face Luton Town.

‘Well done’, ‘Quality’

It’s fair to say that this sort of motion of good will has become more of a regular occurrence under the ownership of Evangelos Marinakis. The work that the Reds have been doing off-the-field to improve the image of the club has been impressive.

There’s no doubt that majority of supporters would’ve preferred the game to have gone ahead, but a number of them have praised the Reds for their latest gesture…
