Nottingham Forest were denied the opportunity to bounce back from back-to-back defeats as their game against Reading at the weekend was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
The Reds have made a promising start to the season under the management of Sabri Lamouchi. They remain just five points off league leaders West Bromwich Albion, despite having not even played at the weekend.

Lamouchi has been praised by a lot of supporters this season for how quickly he has adapted to the Championship. One masterstroke he has pulled off has been playing Matty Cash at right-back. Since Carl Jenkinson picked up an injury, the 22-year-old has been ever-present.
The Reds fell to a disappointing defeat against Hull City at the City Ground last time out. However, Cash produced a man-of-the-match performance as he scored a superb individual goal and looked the main threat going forward.
Solid
In truth, the 22-year-old has been one of Lamouchi’s most consistent performers over recent weeks. When Jenkinson does eventually return, he’ll find it difficult to get back into the starting line-up.

Cash was rewarded for his efforts on Tuesday. He was named in WhoScored.com‘s Team of the Month for October. He was named alongside the likes of Christopher Schindler, Eberechi Eze and Aleksandar Mitrović in the side.
The right-back was given a rating of 7.45/10, which was the higher than any of the other defenders named in the side.
Sky Sports summarised the defender’s month by stating: “Nottingham Forest faltered last month, yet Cash continued to impress at right-back.

“The 22-year-old made 22 tackles and interceptions combined for Forest, with an additional 16 clearances.”
Cash will be hoping this recognition doesn’t curse him in any way ahead of an important run of fixtures.
The Reds are back in action this weekend as they travel to Kenilworth Road to face Luton Town.
