Nottingham Forest defender Joe Worrall has heaped praise on former Rangers team-mate Alfredo Morelos during an interview with Talk Sport (November 8th; 12:30).

The Reds ace was asked for his opinion on the Light Blues after their famous Europa League victory against Porto.

Steven Gerrard’s team were magnificent in a 2-0 victory and qualification for the knockout stages is now within their grasp.

Worrall has been a mainstay in the Forest team this season and he clearly developed as a footballer during his season-long loan spell at Ibrox during 2018/19.

Morelos netted the first of two decent goals for the Gers last night and Worrall offered praise for the Colombian goalscorer.

He told Talk Sport: “It’s fantastic. Morelos is absolutely on fire, it’s crazy what a player he is. And Steven Davis, he got his goal so I’m really happy for him.

“Last year, being up there at Rangers, it was tough for me on a personal note being away from home and it opened my eyes. The European nights are really special and they are doing fantastically this season.”

Worrall grew into the season at Rangers last season and although some supporters were glad when he returned to Forest, he is certainly showing signs that his loan spell has done him the world of good.

In playing every single minute of Forest’s league campaign this season he has highlighted a clear improvement in his defending and supporters currently worship the homegrown talent.

Branded a future captain of the Reds by several supporters of the club, Worrall is very much one of Lamouchi’s most important players and there is hope that his solid form can continue for the foreseeable.
