Nottingham Forest duo Matty Cash and Tiago Silva have both been named in the Sky Bet Championship Team of the Week for their performances in the 1-0 win over Derby County.

The influential pair were both outstanding in Saturday’s victory and have earned a place among the division’s top performers.

The team features two former Forest players too. Britt Assombalonga and Patrick Bamford are the two strikers in the team for their displays for Middlesbrough and Leeds respectively.

Cash was exceptional at right-back on Saturday. A week after setting the record for the most amount of tackles in a Championship game this season, he was at it again on derby-day.

The academy graduate made three tackles, two interceptions, two clearances and one key pass as Forest ran out victorious (Official Twitter).

Tiago Silva picked the perfect game to really showcase his talent to the City Ground faithful. The Portuguese maestro has been looking a lot sharper of late but he really proved his worth against the Rams.

It has taken some time for the 26-year-old to get up to the level required in the Championship but the Reds now look to have found themselves a real piece of quality.

Silva terrorised the opposition with a series of neat touches and flicks, whilst his work without the ball was also worthy of note.

The man who suffered relegation with Feirense last season was the best player on the pitch by an absolute mile on Saturday and proved mesmerising.

Forest now have a two-week break before their next game at Bristol City.

Even with the season still in its relatively early stages, the game at Ashton Gate looks a big one, with the Robins level on points with Forest in the division.

Forest fans will hope that Cash and Silva recharge the batteries and turn in equally impressive performance when the Reds return to action.
