Joe Worrall claimed the Man of the Match award following the game and as a lifelong supporter of the football club, it clearly meant a lot to him.

Following the game he tweeted an emotional message to the Forest supporters straight from the heart, as the Reds enjoyed a moment with the Brian Clough Trophy in the dressing room:

The 22-year-old centre-back has been seriously impressive for the Reds this season. He has played every minute of every league fixture under Lamouchi, growing as a defender with each game that passes.

He spent last season on loan at Rangers and working under Steven Gerrard has clearly paid dividends for Worrall.

As a player who had already played over 50 games for the Reds, it will have stung to be packed off on loan by Aitor Karanka and he now looks like a man keen to make up for lost time.

Following his emotional derby-day tweet, Forest supporters took to Twitter to congratulate the player on a super performance.
