Nottingham Forest left-back Yuri Ribeiro has been named in the Who Scored Team of the Week for his performance in Saturday’s 1-0 victory over Derby County.

The Portuguese speedster signed for the Reds on a free transfer during the summer and has looked like a really smart piece of business by the club.

At 22-years-old there is plenty of time for him to continue improving and having started the last two games he looks to have ousted Jack Robinson from the team.

Ribeiro has played seven league games for the Reds this season and is getting better with each game. His ability to get forward and assist with the team on the attack is proving a useful asset in Lamouchi’s team.

The youngster left Benfica having represented the first-team on nine occasions. He was a regular for the club’s second string, however, and is now proving a very capable player at Championship level.

Ribeiro proved something of an unsung hero at the weekend. The likes of Tiago Silva, Joe Worrall and Lewis Grabban all played well; although the statistics do back Ribeiro’s inclusion.

The determined performer made five tackles, had a pass success ratio of 82% and completed two successful dribbles, according to Who Scored.

Surprise

It was perhaps surprising that Silva, in particular, didn’t join in him Who Scored’s team. He battled particularly hard in the Reds midfield but nonetheless, Forest supporters will be delighted to see one of their players earn recognition from the statistics specialists.

Riberio has been proof that some value is to be had in shopping in the European market for new recruits.
