Nottingham Forest midfielder Ben Watson has told Nottinghamshire Live that promotion from the Championship is there for the taking this season for the Reds.
The central midfielder has played every game in the heart of the Forest midfield and has been reborn under French boss Sabri Lamouchi.
Last season, it would appear that his City Ground days were numbered when he fell way down the pecking order under Aitor Karanka.
Watson is now looking back to his best, almost rolling back the years with his displays so far during the 2019/20 campaign.

He says that promotion is the aim and feels it is definitely obtainable for the Reds.
Watson told Nottinghamshire Live: “I can’t really see anyone running away with it. In previous years that’s been the case. One or two have pulled away.
“At Christmas, we’ll have a better idea of what’s going to happen. At the minute it looks like it’s going to be a close one. It’s there for the taking.”
Forest defeated Derby last time out and Watson doesn’t believe that one team has ‘blown him away’ yet, but does think the Reds won’t be alone with such a thought process.

He continued: “I don’t think there has been a game or a team we’ve played this season when you’ve gone ‘wow’, so it’s there for us.
“We’ll be saying that and there are 10 other teams saying the exact same thing.
“In this league, you’re two defeats from dropping down to 12th and you’re two wins away from being top of the league.”
Nottingham Forest News view – Focus is refreshing from Forest performers
Whenever a Reds player is put up for an interview at the moment the focus in their approach is evident.
Nobody seems to be getting carried away and although confidence is high the mindset is clear – one game at a time.
Watson has been there and done it before when it comes to the Championship and having him back looking better than ever has been a massive positive for Forest.

His new role under Lamouchi has allowed for the vibrant young players to really showcase their talents and even Watson’s harshest critics have now been silenced.
Having the 34-year-old in the dressing room can only bode well as the season progresses and Forest supporters will hope his vast experience can continue to have an impact on the team.
