Nottingham Forest have made a surprise start to the 2019/20 campaign with the Reds sitting in fifth place in the Championship. The fine start made by Sabri Lamouchi’s men hasn’t gone unnoticed and reports in The Sun (Print Edition; page 72) have cited interest in Matty Cash.
The publication claims that Everton, Crystal Palace and Southampton are preparing January bids in the region of £12 million.
It does seem unlikely that Forest will see Cash. The 22-year-old has excelled at right-back this season with the club’s natural options falling foul of injury problems.

The academy graduate would surely fetch far more than £12 million were Forest remotely considering selling Cash. Given his undoubted talent, however, that seems unlikely.
Cash was a winger by trade prior to the current campaign but Sabri Lamouchi has transformed the player into a solid option to call upon at right-back.
At Luton earlier this month, Cash set the record for the most tackles won in a single Championship game during 2019/20 with 11 tackles against the Hatters.

Given his age, there is still lots of potential to unearth and Forest will want to keep hold of Cash for a little while longer.
Following news of the latest transfer rumour, Forest fans have been reacting on Twitter, with the vast majority wanting him to be kept at the club.
Here is a selection of tweets from Reds supporters in reaction to the interest in Cash:
