Nottingham Forest winger Sammy Ameobi is keen to extend his spell at the City Ground beyond the end of the season.
Sammy Ameobi, 27, has stated his intention of extending his stay at Nottingham Forest with the hope of earning a new contract before the end of the season.
The winger joined the Reds when they were still under the management of Martin O’Neill. He joined from Bolton Wanderers on a free transfer following a period of turmoil off-the-field at the Macron Stadium.

Ameobi netted eight goals in 65 appearances for the Trotters, before moving to the City Ground where has has scored two goals in 14 appearances in all competitions so far.
The club’s official media team recently took questions from supporters to ask the winger during a Content Day. One of these was in relation to the winger’s future with the Reds having only signed a one-year contract in the summer.
Responding to the question, the 27-year-old told the club’s official media team: “Absolutely. I’ve loved my time here so far so hopefully I’m working my way to a new contract. We’ll see.”

Inconsistent
Having signed Ameobi and Albert Adomah in the summer, the Reds do have better wide options than they did last season. Ameobi has certainly been given more of an opportunity by Sabri Lamouchi than Adomah.
The one thing about Ameobi that seems to frustrate supporters is his inconsistency. He has the ability to produce an outstanding performance but isn’t able to produce that level of performance regularly enough for some.
He’ll be hoping that he can add more goals to his game between now and the end of the season.

He has so far found the back of the net against Stoke City and Luton Town. His header against the Potters was arguably one of the goals of the season so far.
It’ll certainly be interesting to see whether or not he is able to earn a new contract.
