Nottingham Forest boss Sabri Lamouchi has praised Manchester City loanee Arijanet Muric’s ‘professional’ attitude.
The Reds return to competitive action tomorrow afternoon as they travel to Ashton Gate to take on Bristol City in the Championship.
Lamouchi’s men are currently well-placed in the play-off places. They have an opportunity to build on their promising start by picking up three points against the Robins.
The Reds snapped up Muric on a season-long loan from the Citizens in the summer. However, the 21-year-old hasn’t been able to make the impact he would’ve wanted.
Muric played the first four league games of the 2019/20 campaign under the management of Lamouchi. However, he has since lost his place to Brice Samba.
Samba has been hugely impressive between the sticks and Muric has subsequently had to settle for a place on the bench.
Speaking to the Nottingham Post, Lamouchi revealed that he has been impressed with Muric’s ‘professional’ attitude since losing his place in the side.
He said: “He’s very positive in training sessions and is a nice guy.
“He’s been good. He’s a young goalkeeper, just 21-years-old.
“He played two games with his national team and has come back and trained with us. He’s a professional.”
Pep Guardiola may be tempted to recall the goalkeeper in January due to his lack of football. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see the youngster make an early return to the Etihad Stadium.
The Premier League giants may want to loan him out somewhere else for the second-half of the campaign. He isn’t going to gain much by being sat on the bench at the City Ground.
For the time-being though, Muric will have to continue to work hard in training to challenge Samba.
