Yuri Ribeiro missed Nottingham Forest’s goalless draw against Bristol City at Ashton Gate on Saturday through injury.
Sabri Lamouchi has stated that Yuri Ribeiro suffered ‘a kick in the knee’ ahead of Forest’s goalless draw against Bristol City in the Championship.
As a result, defender Ribeiro was replaced in the starting line-up by fellow left-back Jack Robinson. In this case, Lamouchi deemed that Ribeiro wasn’t worth risking ahead of a busy period of fixtures for the Reds.
Since Ribeiro made a switch to the City Ground in the summer, he has impressed with his performances at left-back. He has made 10 appearances so far, but has been frustrated with a few injury niggles already.
However, it seems that this latest one isn’t anything to be worried about.
Speaking to the Nottingham Post, Lamouchi provided a positive update on Ribeiro.
“He received a kick in the knee – a stupid kick,” Lamouchi told the Nottingham Post.
“He has had an MRI.
“I hope he will start to run tomorrow with us, and we will see for the next week and the next game.”
Therefore, it does seem that Ribeiro will be fine despite missing out on yesterday’s game through injury. Lamouchi tends to be very cautious about risking any player who isn’t fully fit.
There’s no doubt that Lamouchi will need as many players available as possible over the next few weeks. The games are coming thick and fast in the Championship as we approach the festive period.
The Reds are next in action against Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road on Wednesday.
