Nottingham Forest are flying high in the Championship this season and today the club paid their best wishes to a former player.
Former central defender Des Walker has turned 54 today and it has given fans a chance to reminisce about a former great.
Walker was sensational for Forest and had two spells with the club.
He came through the youth ranks and made 346 appearances during his first spell at the club.

Walker helped Forest to two League Cup titles in 1989 and 1990, before signing for Serie A outfit Sampdoria in 1992.
After a single year with the Italian outfit, he returned to England to sign for Sheffield Wednesday. During his time at Hillsborough, he made a further 361 appearances.
In 2002, Walker made an emotional return to the City Ground. In his first season back at the club he helped Paul Hart’s team reach the Championship play-offs, where the Reds lost to Sheffield United.
Walker was one of the best defenders of his generation and arguably one of the greatest to represent England.

He finished his career with 59 caps for the Three Lions and seven appearances for the under-21s.
Many Forest supporters would consider Walker as one of the best defenders to ever turn out for the club. Several have indeed to taken to Twitter on his birthday to confirm as much.
