Nottingham Forest travel to Loftus Road to face Queens Park Rangers on Wednesday.
Nottingham Forest boss Sabri Lamouchi spoke to reporters yesterday, and provided a big injury boost for his side, with the news that three players are closing in on a return to action, as quoted by the club’s official website.
The Reds have enjoyed a promising start to the season. They remain just five points off the automatic promotion places after Saturday’s goalless draw against Bristol City.
They have improved drastically since Lamouchi took over in the summer. The Reds will now fancy their chances of competing for promotion to the Premier League.
Having some of their key players back and available for selection will be crucial to Forest’s hopes of achieving that. Lamouchi told reporters how Alfa Semedo, Carl Jenkinson and Yohan Benalouane could all be back in time for Wednesday’s clash with QPR at Loftus Road, as quoted by the club’s official website.
“Alfa Semedo, Carl Jenkinson and Yohan Benalouane are available to come with us in London.
“Benalouane is important for the team and important for me to have one more solution. He is ready to travel with us because he is training with us but I think it may be too early for him to play from the beginning or for a short time.”
There’s no doubt that all three players will be of use to Lamouchi. It’s unlikely that any of them will walk back into the starting line-up, but they will certainly provide good competition.
Semedo offers something different in midfield, what with his youthful energy and incredible work-rate. Jenkinson, meanwhile provides that little bit of quality in possession and competition for Matty Cash, whilst Benalouane is another physical option at centre-back.
