The 22-year-old initially broke through the club’s academy system in the 2016/17 campaign. He has gone on to become an indispensable member of the side.

Cash had been contracted to the Reds until June 2021 but the City Ground side confirmed on Thursday that he has penned a new contract until the end of the 2022/23 campaign.

The 22-year-old has made over 100 appearances for the Reds already. He has made 115 appearances in total, netting 12 goals in the process.

This term, Cash has really kicked on in the right-back position. He has been helped by Carl Jenkinson picking up an injury early on in the season. However, the former Arsenal full-back will now find it difficult to get his place back in the side.

Needless to say, many Nottingham Forest fans were pleased with the contract news and took to social media to express their delight:

Cash will be hoping he can help Lamouchi’s men keep a fourth consecutive clean sheet.
