Nottingham Forest beat QPR 4-0 at Loftus Road last night to jump into fourth place in the Sky Bet Championship.

The Reds secured the victory thanks to goals from Tobias Figueiredo, Lewis Grabban, Joao Carvalho and Alfa Semedo.

Boss Sabri Lamouchi will have enjoyed the three points although he may strive for better performance levels when Cardiff City arrive at the City Ground on Saturday.

Forest have so far slipped under the radar but more wins like last night and outsiders might have to start taking notice of the Reds.

One man who was impressed with Lamouchi’s team last night was ex-Wales defender Daniel Gabbidon.

He was co-commentating on the Sky Sports coverage of the contest and heaped praise on the Reds after the contest.

Gabbidon could have quite easily stuck up for his former club last night. He could have cited luck or the red card as the reason for Forest’s win.

He didn’t, however, and instead chose to lump praise on Lamouchi’s team.

Even the most ardent of Forest supporters could have predicted such a competent start. Given the nature of the first 17 games, it seems only natural that people are starting to take the Reds seriously.

Gabbidon cited the nice blend of youth and experience. He is spot on with that and Lamouchi has nailed that aspect.

Ben Watson was the midfield battering ram last night and his combative nature allowed Tiago Silva alongside him to pull the strings in possession.

Forest are facing a crucial run of games during the next month or so. If the Reds can maintain their league position around the Christmas period they will be nicely poised for the second half of the campaign.

Maybe then people will really start to give Forest the credit which they deserve.
