Nottingham Forest are back in action this afternoon as they face Cardiff City at the City Ground in the Championship.
New Cardiff City manager Neil Harris admitted to WalesOnline that he’s been left impressed with how Sabri Lamouchi has improved the Reds defensively this season.
Harris made the comments about Forest in his pre-match press conference ahead of this afternoon’s game.
The Reds continued their promising start to the season in midweek. They hammered 10-man Queens Park Rangers 4-0 at Loftus Road. However, it’s Forest’s defensive resolve which has impressed Harris most.
Harris told WalesOnline: “What Forest have added this year is the defensive mindset. They’ve been searching for that and they’ve done well defensively.
“They look like a good, all-round team. I know some players quite well, Lewis Grabban for example, I played with at Millwall a while ago.
“We have to make sure we deal with their threats as we did against Stoke. We have to find ways of hurting them and that’s where teams have struggled.
“They can play quite deep and narrow.”
The Reds moved up to fourth in the Championship in midweek. They have picked up 32 points from 17 matches, with at least one game in hand on majority of the teams around them. They are still within touching distance of the automatic promotion places.
The East Midlands outfit have scored 24 goals so far this season and have conceded just 13 goals, according to BBC Sport.
Forest have one of the meanest defences in the division, and attacking-wise, they can also be brilliant, and this season they seem to have all the ingredients to finish in the play-offs in the Championship.
The Reds will be hoping they can pick up another three points against the Bluebirds this afternoon.
