Sammy Ameobi was in action for Nottingham Forest against Cardiff City on Saturday.
Nottingham Forest fans have taken to social media to give their reaction to the performance of Sammy Ameobi against Cardiff City.
Ameobi was in action for the Reds in their Championship game against the Bluebirds at the City Ground on Saturday afternoon.
The 27-year-old winger started the match and played for 75 minutes, and his performance left much to be desired.
The former Newcastle United winger, signed from Bolton Wanderers in the summer transfer window on a free transfer, did not make a huge impact in the game.
According to Stats Zone, the winger had five shots during the game but only hit the target once. However, the biggest frustration for supporters was that he only managed to create one chance.
Lewis Grabban cut an isolated figure at times throughout the game. That was mainly due to the lack of service he was being given by Ameobi and Lamouchi’s other creative players.
The result means that the Reds remain in fourth place in the Championship table at the moment with 32 points from 18 matches.
‘Donkey’, ‘Needs dropping’
Nottingham Forest fans were not impressed with the display produced by Ameobi against Cardiff. Some supporters have criticised him for his performance on Twitter.
Here’s a round-up of what supporters have been saying about the winger:
Ameobi is a rate donkey ain’t he 🤣🤣🤣. #nffc

We need real pace in January. Lolley & Ameobi don’t quite have that devastating pace which can scare teams which was needed in games like today #nffc

Someone on here the other day said Ameobi was either wonderful or woeful, definitely the latter today. Whack. Clumsy, wasteful, greedy. Must do better otherwise it’s Adomah for me #NFFC

Ameobi is stealing a living. Pass it on #nffc

Need to be better. Need to be better indeed. Ameobi needs dropping. As does Carvalho. Semedo needs to start. We need a different striking option. Cash far too rash going forward. So much wrong with that performance offensively. #nffc

A winger is probably the most important signing we can make in January, Ameobi/adomah are good back up options but shouldn’t be starting
