Nottingham Forest defender Yuri Ribeiro has revealed that he’s close to making a return having picked up an injury against Derby County in November.

Yuri Ribeiro has taken to social media to update the Nottingham Forest fans on his recovery from injury. He insists that he’ll be back in first-team action soon. Jack Robinson is currently being utilised at left-back by Sabri Lamouchi.

The 22-year-old played the entire 90 minutes in the win against Derby County before the international break. However, he took a knock to his knee which has seen him miss the last three games against Bristol City, Queens Park Rangers and Cardiff City.

Unfortunately, the Reds fell to their third home defeat of the season against Cardiff. It’s fair to say that the Reds weren’t at their best against the Bluebirds. Ribeiro’s attacking threat down the left-hand side may have helped Lamouchi’s men break the away side down.

Lamouchi will be hoping that the left-back is back fit as soon as possible, and Ribeiro has now taken to social media to post a message in response to the support he has received…

There’s no doubt that Ribeiro’s imminent return is a timely boost for the Reds. Having joined from Benfica in the summer, the left-back had established himself in Lamouchi’s side and had been keeping Robinson out of the starting line-up before picking up this latest knock.

Robinson may have been solid in the last couple of weeks, but Lamouchi now faces a tricky decision regarding who will play at left-back. It remains to be seen whether or not Ribeiro is back for Friday’s trip to Millwall.

If the 22-year-old is available for selection, it could be one of Lamouchi’s biggest team selection headaches.

Robinson would be unfortunate to lose his place in the starting line-up. He wasn’t at fault for Cardiff’s goal on Saturday, and played well against Bristol City and QPR. He’ll be hoping he’s done enough to keep Ribeiro out of the side.
