Nottingham Forest will travel to Stamford Bridge to take on Chelsea for the third season in a row, having been drawn against the Blues in the third-round of the FA Cup.

The Reds have made a promising start to the season in the Championship.

The Reds are a different beast this time round from the side which limped to a ninth-placed finish last season and many supporters are now dreaming of promotion to the Premier League.

They weren’t able to get the better of Chelsea in last season’s competition – but it was still a good day out for the club’s supporters. It was the second consecutive year that the Reds had faced the side holding the trophy from the previous season.

The Reds – still under the management of Karanka – were not given much hope against the Blues, given the amount of speculation off-the-field about the Spaniard’s future at the club.

Cesc Fàbregas missed a penalty in his final appearance for the Blues as Maurizio Sarri’s side secured a 2-0 win. Álvaro Morata scored both of Chelsea’s goals in the second-half.

Now, the East Midlanders will get the chance for some revenge with another opportunity to beat the Premier League giants.

The third-round draw saw Chelsea, who were defeated by Manchester United in the fifth-round last season, given a home tie against Forest on the weekend of 3-6 January 2020.

Following the draw, some Nottingham Forest fans took to Twitter to bemoan being drawn against the Blues yet again:
