Nottingham Forest are set to return to Championship action this weekend as they take on Millwall at the New Den.
One player who will be looking forward to the game even more than most is 31-year-old striker Lewis Grabban.
Grabban enjoyed a four-year spell with the Lions earlier in his career, and feels he gained a lot from the experience. He made 70 appearances, netting 11 goals in the process.
Now 31-years-old, the experienced striker is challenging for promotion to the Premier League with the Reds. He’ll be hoping to add to his tally of eight goals so far this season in this game.
Coming up against his former club is unlikely to phase him. He has already returned to the New Den on numerous occasions over the last few years.
The Reds are currently sat six points clear of the Lions in the Championship. Grabban is looking forward to the game and believes that the atmosphere around the club is currently as good as it ever has been since he joined.
‘Best feeling we’ve had’
He told the club’s official site: “Since I have been here, this is the best feeling we’ve had. The lads are behind the manager, the manager believes in the players and the fans are with us as well.
“So far, we have started off well and it is about replicating that for the next third, perhaps doing a bit better and seeing where that takes us.
“It is like other clubs that I come up against, I’ll get a bit of stick but I just try and do well against whoever I am playing against.”
Grabban has been ever-present under the management of Lamouchi. He’s almost guaranteed to start against the Lions tomorrow night.
He has made 18 appearances in all competitions so far this season, contributing with eight goals.
He was restricted to very few if any opportunities against Cardiff City last weekend. He’ll be hoping to get back on the scoresheet in tomorrow night’s game.
