Nottingham Forest have announced that midfielder Ryan Yates has penned a new long-term contract at the City Ground.
The Reds youngster will now remain on Trentside until 2023 and follows Matty Cash in signing a new deal at the football club.
Like his team-mate, Yates has also risen through the academy ranks and this decision will be hugely popular with supporters.

The 22-year-old is currently serving a three-match ban for his dismissal against Bristol City recently. Tomorrow’s game against Millwall is the final game which he will sit out of.
Yates made his first-team debut last season and was a regular in the team under Martin O’Neill during the second half of the campaign.
A tough-tackling player, Yates has endeared himself to supporters with several combative displays. He netted his first goal for the club in a 2-2 draw against West Brom last season.

Naturally, supporters are delighted. In an era where Forest have seen a lot of their younger players leave for relatively small fees, this is a welcomed move by the club’s hierarchy.
Following news of a new deal for the midfielder, we looked at a selection of tweets from Forest supporters regarding the young midfielder.
