Nottingham Forest were forced to settle for a 2-2 draw as Millwall scored in stoppage at the New Den.
The Reds were dreadful in the first half. Sabri Lamouchi’s decision to go with three central defenders and drop Lewis Grabban, Joe Lolley and Joao Carvalho backfired big time.
Millwall ran rings around Forest in the first half. Gary Rowett’s organised team will be disappointed they didn’t put the game to bed during a dominant period.
The Reds hung in the contest though and when the big guns were introduced from the bench there only looked like being one winner.
After a brace from Grabban, Forest will be disappointed not to have held on and won the game. Nonetheless, it looks a decent point on the road given the rollercoaster nature of the game.
Rafa Mir started the game in attack and once again looked badly out of his depth.
It is now 17 games for the striker across spells with parent club Wolves and Forest without a goal and it’s easy to see why.
His movement was shocking and he failed to do his job of holding the ball up, during a first-half when Forest couldn’t make anything stick in the final third.
Mir doesn’t ever look capable of doing a job for the Reds and January could see a decision made on his future.
Following another below-par performance, here is a selection of tweets from the Forest faithful:
Having watched Rafa Mir’s performance back twice now there is no way he should have been on the pitch.
First because he’s not good enough, Grabbs showed what a striker should do and second because he should have been sent off when he lost control. Awful, awful, awful. #nffc

I don't think. We should be too harsh on Mir, obviously it is a poor donkey who has escaped from a sanctuary, dressed as a human calling itself Rafa Mir 😂😂😂😂
I am sure he is a nice guy, but probably worse striker we have ever had. Even Big Lars scored lol and dumitru hadpace

Rafa Mir is terrible, not in the habit of slagging players what so ever but, he is clueless

It might have been a different story if Lewis Grabban had played the full game! Just hope Sabri doesn’t risk playing Rafa Mir again. That choice might have cost us two points tonight! #nffc

Rafa Mir gives me confidence that I will still make it pro

Rafa Mir is never getting a game again. Grabban has come off the bench and absolutely embarrassed him #NFFC

How we’ve let Rafa Mir play 64 minutes of football I’ll never, useless doesn’t cut it
