Nottingham Forest are ready to make a move for Birmingham City striker Lukas Jutkiewicz, according to Nottinghamshire Live, via The Athletic
The uncompromising target man has netted seven goals this season and could leave the Blues in January.
Jutkiewicz, 30, is a proven Championship goalscorer and would provide some ideal competition for Lewis Grabban.
Last season the talisman netted 14 goals and registered 10 assists as Birmingham flirted with the top-six for a while.
With financial problems hanging over the Blues they could be tempted into a sale and Forest could pounce.
The Athletic also claims that Che Adams and Dwight Gayle are among a list of targets for Forest.
Jutkiewicz has scored 73 goals in the Championship during his career and he knows all about the division.
A striker is among the top priorities for Sabri Lamouchi during the window and the Reds will work tirelessly to add to their squad.
Forest beat Blackburn Rovers 3-2 yesterday with Grabban finding the net twice.
With Rafa Mir set to head back to Wolves, however, the 31-year-old will once again be flying solo as the only striker in Lamouchi’s ranks.
Nottingham Forest News View – Jutkiewicz could prove perfect for Forest
With Grabban fit and firing, Forest don’t really need to spend heavily if they can find the right player and Jutkiewicz might just be that man.
With 10 assists last season he showed that his game isn’t just about scoring goals.
His hold up play can be a joy to behold at times and that could be a useful asset for the Reds when it comes to closing games out.
Jutkiewicz can play as a lone striker or with a partner and his presence in the final third might allow Forest to mix things up a bit.
The Birmingham man might not be the star attraction that some supporters crave, but he would be more than capable of doing a job.
