Nottingham Forest were forced to settle for a point against Reading at the Madejski Stadium on Saturday.

The Reds couldn’t extend their winning run to four games, as they failed to hold on to their lead against the Royals, despite scoring in the sixth minute of stoppage time themselves.

Sabri Lamouchi’s side were looking to land the scalp of beating one of the division’s in-form teams away from home, but they couldn’t land a killer blow.

Lamouchi made a bold call by introducing 22-year-old midfielder Ryan Yates off-the-bench in yesterday’s game. There are a number of supporters that feel he isn’t yet up to the required standard for a team chasing promotion.

He was sent off for a rash challenge against Bristol City earlier on in the season. This has planted the seed in the head of many supporters that he’s a liability in this sort of match away from home.

Yates was introduced with around 20 minutes of normal time remaining for Yuri Ribeiro. He wasn’t able to help the Reds secure the three points, despite Ben Watson scoring in the sixth minute of stoppage time.

The Reds remain in the play-off places in the Championship. There’s no doubt that they’ll look back on this game as two points dropped, but there are still many positives to take.

Fans have been taking to Twitter to criticise Lamouchi’s decision to bring Yates on. Some suggested that he’s a ‘waste of a substitution’, and that his ‘skill and balance with the ball is shocking’.

Others were criticising Lamouchi for not bringing Alex Mighten on instead. The 17-year-old made his debut against Chelsea in the FA Cup last weekend, and was alongside Yates on the bench. He would’ve certainly been a more attacking option to bring on.

Here’s what some supporters have been saying about the decision on social media:
