Nottingham Forest loanee Rafa Mir has made an early return to Wolverhampton Wanderers, as confirmed via the club’s official site.

It isn’t a surprise to see the striker make an early exit from the City Ground, given his performances this season.

The 22-year-old failed to score a single goal during his time with the Reds.

Mir made 13 appearances for the Reds in all competitions, but didn’t do enough to challenge Lewis Grabban for a place more regularly in Sabri Lamouchi’s side.

Some Nottingham Forest fans have taken to Twitter to deliver their verdict on the news.

Mir arrived at the City Ground in the summer on a season-long loan from the Premier League outfit, and the Reds were hopeful that he’d prove to be an astute addition.

Given his history of featuring for Spain’s Under-21 side, there were plenty of reasons to be excited about his arrival.

However, it just hasn’t worked out for Mir and it’s the correct decision for everyone involved for his loan to be cut short.

Mir’s last appearance for the Reds came at the beginning of December against Millwall at the New Den.

The 22-year-old was first loaned out by Wolves last season to Las Palmas. He didn’t set the world alight in that spell either as he only scored seven goals in 30 appearances.

There’s no doubt that the majority of Nottingham Forest supporters are delighted to see the striker depart early…
