Nottingham Forest loanee John Bostock could join Charlton Athletic for the second-half of the season after failing to impress at the City Ground.

According to the Daily Mail, the 27-year-old could join the Addicks before the transfer window slams shut later this month.

Bostock joined the Reds in August on a season-long loan from Toulouse. He arrived with quite a reputation having been branded a ‘wonderkid’ during the early stages of his career at Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur.

However, the midfielder hasn’t been able to show his true worth to the City Ground faithful.

Bostock has barely featured in the Championship under Sabri Lamouchi. He has made just three league appearances, racking up just 97 minutes of football in total.

As a result, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the midfielder join another side on loan for the second-half of the season, in the hope that he can get more first-team action under his belt.

Moving

Charlton are in need of recruits as they battle against relegation to League One. Lee Bowyer’s team recently lost on-loan Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher to Swansea City.

It’s unlikely that Toulouse would be against their player making a switch given that Bostock now hasn’t played since the end of November.

He’s under contract at the Ligue 1 outfit until June 2021, so they won’t want him to return in the summer having played very little football.

It wouldn’t be a surprise if the midfielder was the next player to depart the City Ground.
