Nottingham Forest returned to winning ways in the Championship against Luton Town on Sunday.
Nottingham Forest moved to within five points of the automatic promotion places after beating Luton Town 3-1 at the City Ground on Sunday.
The Reds came into the game as big favourites considering Luton’s dismal away record, and they’ll be relieved to have secured the three points after a shaky start.
Harry Cornick gave the Hatters a shock lead after just 23 minutes with a well-taken finish.
However, a brace from Joe Lolley and a late penalty from Lewis Grabban ensured the Reds picked up another win.
That all meant that the Reds picked up another three points. They have accumulated 47 points from 27 games so far this season.
One of the most promising aspects of this afternoon’s game was the performance of Lolley.
The 27-year-old hasn’t been at his best this season, but if he can maintain this level of performance for the rest of the season, then it’ll give the Reds a huge chance of promotion.
Some branded him ‘magic’ and likened him to Lionel Messi, believing that his performances are starting to reach the heights of last season.
We’ve got our Lolley back #NFFC

Lolley was tremendous today, as was Watson. Cash was great defensively, but his passes were off. Silva was clever, and Sow…well, he’s Sow. #NFFC

There’s no doubt that the Reds will need Lolley to be at the top of his game if they are to push for automatic promotion.
The Reds are currently only five points off the automatic promotion places, with big games to come against the likes of Brentford, Leeds United and West Bromwich Albion.
Sabri Lamouchi will be hoping the winger can perform like this more consistently. If he can, as he did last season, then the Reds will be a real threat moving forward.
