The saga surrounding Nottingham Forest target Glenn Murray could still have some mileage yet.
Last night Brighton played Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium with the Cherries running out 3-1 winners.
Murray was an unused substitute and at the end of the game, the 36-year-old might have offered a hint that he is set to depart.
The man who netted 13 Premier League goals last season went over to the away end on his own and threw his shirt into the supporters.
He appeared to wave goodbye to the club he has played for since 2016 when he first signed on loan.
Forest’s interest in Murray was revealed by The Sun on Sunday (12/01; page 63) earlier this month.
Celtic and Newcastle have also been linked with the player but interest from the Reds does appear to be more concrete.
Forest are busy scouring the market for a striker. Lewis Grabban has 15 goals for the season but there is little, if anything, in reserve.

The Reds allowed Rafa Mir to return to Wolves and Tyler Walker is still on loan with Lincoln City.
If Forest could land someone with the experience and know-how of Murray, it would represent a coup, albeit a short-term one.
Intrigue
Of course, last night could have been an innocent gesture from Murray but it did seem somewhat ominous.
He has started just three league games under Graham Potter this season and he really needs to be playing football.
Grabban is firmly the first choice at the City Ground but he would get plenty of chances to play if he joined Forest.

Murray would represent a different option and if the Reds could get it over the line it would delight most supporters.
Sabri Lamouchi might need to act quickly. Last night might have alerted other clubs to the fact that Murray is now willing to move on.
Brighton have already suggested that Murray will be worth £500,000 to a Premier League club, whilst any Championship outfit that wants him can get him for free.
