West Ham United are the latest club to emerge as admirers of Nottingham Forest star Matty Cash, according to the Daily Mail.

AC Milan are also thought to be keen with The Athletic reporting that a £15 million bid had been made.

West Ham have watched Cash on occasions this season. The right-back has played 25 games in the Championship during the campaign with Forest sat in fifth.

Forest aren’t in a position where they need to sell and the reported interest does seem like idle gossip at the moment.

Sabri Lamouchi has put Forest in a position to challenge for promotion, despite being in charge for just six months.

It would be madness for the Reds to consider offloading their best players during this month and Cash has been one of the most consistent members of the team.

West Ham are looking for reinforcements this month as they bid to stay in the Premier League.

Ryan Fredericks is currently injured and that has seen David Moyes increase his efforts to land a right-back.

It’s unlikely to be Cash, with Forest expected to stand firm regardless of the offers which they might receive this month.

Interest from the likes of West Ham and AC Milan simply highlights what a good season Forest are enjoying.

A win tonight against Reading would put the Reds in a seriously strong position and it should be viewed as a complement that bigger clubs are looking at Forest stars.

Nottingham Forest News View – Forest of old might have flirted with a sale but times have now changed

Before the new hierarchy was put in place at Forest, a £15 million bid would have almost certainly been accepted.

Things are thankfully different these days, however.

With reports claiming that the Reds are expected to stand firm this month, it offers hope that the squad can be stronger once the window closes.

Cash is proving an integral part of Lamouchi’s team. He has been reborn at right-back and looks like a player who has played there his whole career.

The 22-year-old only signed a new deal in November so Forest won’t be tempted into a cheap deal to offload Cash.

Times have changed for the better and in today’s market, the Reds academy graduate might be worth even more if he can lead Forest over the line in their promotion quest.
