Nottingham Forest went third in the Championship with a superb 1-0 victory over Brentford at Griffin Park.

Joe Lolley’s goal in the 14th minute ensured it was Forest who collected all three points from the night’s big contest in the Championship.

The Reds are now just two points behind West Bromwich Albion in second and four off Leeds at the top.

Sabri Lamouchi’s men continue to defy expectations and Forest currently sit top of the division’s form table.

On Saturday the Reds travel to Birmingham City looking to stay in touch with the top two.

Lolley might have grabbed the headlines for his goal but following the game, Matty Cash earned rave reviews.

He kept Said Benrahma quiet throughout the contest, with Brentford actually creating very little.

The 22-year-old is valued at £18 million by Forest, with West Ham and AC Milan thought to be interested (Daily Mail).

He is firmly a fan favourite at the City Ground and his form at right-back this season has been a revelation.
