Nottingham Forest striker Tyler Walker has told the club’s official website that he can’t wait to repay the faith shown in him by the club’s supporters.

The young talisman was recalled from a loan spell with Lincoln earlier this week and will be available for selection this weekend against Birmingham City.

Walker netted 16 goals for the Imps during the first half of this season. During 2018/19 he bagged 26 times as he helped Mansfield Town reach the League Two play-offs.

With Forest playing the first half of the 2019/20 campaign with just Lewis Grabban as the only senior striker, the Reds have opted to recall the in-form Walker.

The 23-year-old is excited to be back at the City Ground and can’t wait to get going in a red shirt.

He told the club’s official website: “I’m obviously delighted and I’m really happy to be back, the club is pushing for promotion and I’m looking forward to being a part of it.

“I’ve really enjoyed my time on loan, I feel like I’ve done what I needed to in order to come back and help out and I’m looking forward to scoring goals for Forest.

“I’m delighted that the fans have shown me so much love. I’m really happy and hopefully, I can repay that faith.”

Forest are currently third in the Championship and are just four points off the top of the league.

Prolific

Walker came through the ranks at Forest and he will be chomping at the bit to add to his 38 appearances for the Reds.

The youngster will have benefited from two successful loan spells and the striker could be like a new signing at the City Ground.

Had Forest landed a striker from a League One club with a similar record to Walker the excitement levels would be massive.

Fellow academy graduate Joe Worrall went to Rangers on loan to cut his teeth and Forest have clearly benefited from that temporary stint.

The hope will be that Walker can now have a similar impact in Lamouchi’s team.
