Nottingham Forest take on Leeds United on Saturday in a big six-pointer in the Sky Bet Championship.

The Reds are just four points behind Marcelo Bielsa’s men and a win could ignite a push towards automatic promotion.

Forest were beaten last week by Birmingham City. The 2-1 reverse was all the more tough to take based on Lewis Grabban missing a penalty with the Reds already a goal to the good.

Needless to say, the Forest star has bailed the team out on more than one occasion this season and he will certainly bounce back.

A game against Leeds could actually be just the tonic for Grabban.

His goalscoring exploits for the Reds have been unrivalled for Forest just the last two seasons.

He recently became the first man since Stan Collymore in the nineties to fire at least 15 goals in two successive seasons.

Grabban loves scoring goals but against Leeds, he seems to really shine.

In seven games against the Whites, the £6 million (BBC) talisman has netted five times and that could bode well this weekend.

Grabban’s late equaliser at Elland Road earlier in the season was his first against the Yorkshiremen for Forest.

Three came during his time at Bournemouth, with the other coming during his loan spell at Aston Villa.

Having a player with such a record against Leeds in the ranks for Saturday can only be a good thing.

Grabban clearly relishes the big occasion and after a frustrating afternoon last weekend, he will be keen to bounce back.

This season, Grabban has really silenced his critics. His 16 goals have ensured that Forest remain on course for a top-six finish, whilst they could still flirt with the top two.

In the past, he has been forced to fend off suggestions of being lazy, disinterested and having attitude problems.

That hasn’t been further from the truth this season with Grabban arguably the club’s standout player during 2019/20.

A big game and a packed-out City Ground might be just what Grabban needs to get back on the goal trail.

The statistics show that he will certainly be relishing a trip from Leeds this weekend.
