Nottingham Forest defender Tobias Figueiredo produced another impressive performance for the Reds at the City Ground.
A number of Nottingham Forest fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Tobias Figueiredo’s display during their 2-0 win against Leeds United, with several suggesting that he deserves more credit for his performances.
Sabri Lamouchi’s men will now be full of belief that they can challenge for automatic promotion. They have moved to within one point of the top two, and will now be looking to back yesterday’s win up against Charlton Athletic on Tuesday.
The Reds may have feared the worst when they missed a number of good chances in the second-half to kill the game off. This gave the away side belief that they could get back into the game, and they pushed hard in the last 20 minutes of the game.
But the Reds head into Tuesday’s clash against Charlton at the City Ground still sat fourth in the Championship after Tyler Walker sealed the points in stoppage time.
There were a number of players who impressed against Leeds. One of those players was certainly Tobias Figueiredo.
The 26-year-old kept Patrick Bamford quiet throughout the entire game, as well as Jean-Kevin Augustin when he was introduced. Not only Figueiredo, but the entire back four was simply outstanding against Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
The Nottingham Post reported that he was signed for just £1.7 million in 2018. There’s no doubt that whatever the Reds paid for his services, he’s definitely turned out to be great value for money.
And plenty of Nottingham Forest fans have lauded the defender. Figueiredo has formed a solid partnership alongside Joe Worrall, and many supporters feel that the defender’s performances are going under the radar.

Samba Sow, outstanding. Marty Cash a revelation. Lolley unplayable. Watson, Worrall, Figs. Could name them all. From 1 to 11 they work so hard. Not sure I’ve seen a Forest side as organised & solid defensively in the 21 years I’ve been going. #nffc

Brilliant performance from the Reds. Leeds hardly had a sniff. Back 4 were brilliant particularly Figs and Ribeiro. Sow and Watson dominated midfield again and Lolley is back to his best. #nffc
