Nottingham Forest left-back Yuri Ribeiro produced an impressive performance for the Reds against the league leaders at the Hawthorns.

A number of Nottingham Forest fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Yuri Ribeiro’s display during their 2-2 draw against West Bromwich Albion, with several suggesting that he’s the best left-back the Reds have had in years.

Sabri Lamouchi’s men will be pleased to have somewhat bounced back from the midweek defeat to Charlton. They are still only four points off the automatic promotion places, having come through a difficult week of fixtures.

The Reds may have feared the worst when referee Keith Stroud continually made poor decisions against them. However, they didn’t give in, and eventually got their reward when Matty Cash rifled home a vital equaliser in stoppage time.

It’s fair to say that Lamouchi would’ve been hoping for more than four points from this week’s three fixtures. That being said, his side still find themselves sat fifth in the Championship as a number of other results went in their favour.

There were a number of players who impressed against West Brom. One of those players was certainly Yuri Ribeiro.

The 23-year-old was lucky to avoid a serious injury in the first-half after being on the end of a shocking challenge from Jake Livermore. This wasn’t the only poor challenge on the left-back, but he didn’t let it prevent him from producing an outstanding display.

Sport Witness reported that the Reds didn’t pay a single penny to secure his services in the summer. If that’s true, then it’s arguably the best piece of business that the club have done in years.

‘Outstanding’, ‘Exceptional’

And plenty of Nottingham Forest fans have lauded the defender. Ribeiro was reintroduced to the starting line-up after being left out for Gaetan Bong on Tuesday, and the difference in class was there for all to see.
