Perry Ng’s performances for Crewe Alexandra in League Two have reportedly attracted the attention of Nottingham Forest.
Derby County, Birmingham City, Charlton Athletic and Bristol City are also understood to be interested in the right-back, according to TEAMtalk.
The 23-year-old looks set to leave Gresty Road at the end of the season when his contract expires.
Perry Ng is one of the best right-backs in League Two and is a key player for David Artell’s side.
According to WhoScored, the 23-year-old has made 32 appearances for the Railwaymen this season, scoring one goal and providing five assists.
TEAMtalk have reported that Forest, who are pushing hard for promotion to the Premier League this season, are keen on taking him on a free transfer along with a number of other Championship sides.
Ng has come through Alexandra’s famed youth academy and has made over 100 appearances for the club, featuring at both right-back and centre-back.
The 23-year-old has been superb for Crewe since breaking into the first-team in 2015. The progress that the defender has made at Gresty Road suggests that he would be a success in the Championship.
Forest are currently sat fifth in the Championship with just 13 games left to play. They are just four points away from the automatic promotion places.
Taking that into account, it’s difficult to predict exactly who the Reds will target in the summer. That’ll largely depend on what division they find themselves in.
Sabri Lamouchi already has Matty Cash and Carl Jenkinson to choose from at right-back.
Tendayi Darikwa will also return from his long-term injury to play a part next season.
That being said, signing Ng on a free transfer wouldn’t be much of a risk if they did decide to make a move.
