Nottingham Forest announced the permanent signing of Barcelona youngster Marcus McGuane earlier today.

The midfielder comes with a glowing reputation having come through the academy at Arsenal.

During his time with the Gunners, he played twice in the Europa League and was seemingly rated highly by Arsene Wenger.

Having grown frustrated with the French boss over a lack of game time, however, he opted to move to Barcelona.

The 21-year-old made 24 appearances for the club’s B team and spent the first half of the 2019/20 campaign on loan with SC Telstar.

With the Dutch second-tier outfit he scored one goal and registered three assists but he now links up with Forest where he’ll join the club’s under-23 team.

McGuane became the first Englishman to represent Barca in 29 years, playing in the Catalan Super Cup Final back in March 2018.

Following his move to the City Ground, Arsenal supporters have been reacting to the news.

Some believe he perhaps should have stuck at the Emirates Stadium, with others just keen to wish the youngster well.

McGuane will likely spend the season getting up to scratch with Chris Cohen’s team, before joining in with the first-team for pre-season training.

Following the latest new addition, we looked at what Arsenal and Nottingham Forest fans have been saying about the youngster.
