Nottingham Forest cemented their place inside the top six of the Championship with a 1-0 win over Bristol City at the City Ground.
The game was settled by Tiago Silva who curled a scrumptious free-kick beyond Daniel Bentley.
In truth, the game was a cagey affair. Forest needing to keep up the chase for an outside shot at automatic promotion; with the Robins needing to close the gap to sixth place.
Silva’s moment of magic secured three massive points for the Reds, however, who now move seven points clear of seventh place.
In a bizarre game with very few clear cut chances, it always seemed that one moment might decide it.
Silva didn’t have his best game in a Forest shirt but Reds supporters won’t be bothered one bit.
It is now seven points from three matches since the return of Championship action, with Forest looking like a top-six side as an absolute minimum.
For Silva, the relief was there for all to see. One of the criticisms aimed in his direction is that he doesn’t contribute to enough goals.
His free-kick here was just his third of the campaign to sit alongside his four assists.
Forest’s defence stood firm and Tobias Figueiredo and Joe Worrall were both superb at the back.
Matty Cash and Portuguese star Yuri Ribeiro were also both in good shape at both ends of the pitch.
It was the man named Tiago who provided the ‘Silva’ lining for the Reds, however, with the 27-year-old timing his best moment in a Forest shirt to absolute perfection.
