Nottingham Forest failed to cement their place in the top six of the Championship as Fulham secured a 1-0 win at the City Ground.
The Reds were way off the pace and once again lost points thanks to a goal deep into stoppage time.
Harry Arter’s goal came in the fourth minute of time added on at the end of the first half and sent the Cottagers five points clear of Forest.
The Reds weren’t at their best and after the game on Twitter, supporters were quick to have their say.
Unsurprisingly there were plenty of people quick to write the game off as a freak result; believing a play-off place is still firmly within Forest’s grasp.
One topic of conversation that was hot on lots of lips was the exclusion of Joao Carvalho, who once again failed to get on the pitch.
The Portuguese maestro has managed just 17 minutes of action since the restart with Sabri Lamouchi clearly not keen on including him.
Carvalho showed flashes of promises last season and looked to be settling into first-team football in England.
His career has somewhat stalled this season, however, starting just nine league games under Lamouchi.
After another game without the 23-year-old magician, Nottingham Forest fans took to Twitter to urge the Reds boss to bring Carvalho in from the cold.
Can accept us losing! Just wasn’t good enough today.
Bit baffled by the subs, semedo offers nothing over carvalho.
We have very little if our wingers have a off day, today was screaming out for Carvalho to find a killer ball.
Wouldn’t of been so bad, if hung on Saturday 🤪 #NFFC

Next match, start with Carvalho without a doubt and see how it goes. At the minute, and as much as I hate to say it, he’s a waste of money sitting on the bench every match.

Yeah I get Carvalho hasn’t been the signing we had all hoped for. But bloody hell he should be getting on that pitch whenever we need a goal. Sabri does make some strange subs at strange times. But we are still in the play offs. Just hope we don’t do a Forest #nffc

That's annoyed me today. For the good of the team carvalho should have got minutes. Simple #nffc

Feel gutted for Carvalho.#NFFC

Yep, not sure why Carvalho can’t get a run out. It was crying out for a bit of creativity. Perfect for him. But I trust Sabri and I’m sure he’s as frustrated as the fans.

May aswell cash in on Carvalho. Something must have happened behind scenes. Waste of wages if he can’t get a sniff even today. #nffc

At what point does Carvalho get a game? Pointless him even being on the bench #NFFC

How does Diakhaby get on over carvalho #nffc

Not good enough tonight – lacked a cutting edge. Saying that officials were diabolical again 🙈 would’ve been nice to see Carvalho but we go again! #nffc

IMO he’s #NFFC best player but his defensive side obvs doesn’t suit the gaffer. There’s many more expensive players not getting a gig around the country

It's been said loads of times already since full time, but it's a valid point to make about Carvalho. Once the focus was simply on getting a goal, he'd have been a far more likely source of inspiration than a few of the players that were brought on #NFFC

Terrible ref, one of the worst we have seen. But why no Carvalho? Surely he was a better option than what came on. #NFFC
