New Nottingham Forest arrival Jack Colback has told the club’s official YouTube channel that ‘unfinished business’ was his reasoning behind returning to the City Ground.
The 30-year-old checked-in last month having spent two previous spells at the football club on loan from Newcastle United.
Following his release from the Magpies, the Reds moved swiftly to bring Colback back to the East Midlands, bolstering Sabri Lamouchi’s midfield ranks.

Colback offers vast experience to the Reds in the middle of the park and he is looking forward to the season starting.
He told the club’s media team: “It was probably just to do with the experiences of when I was here two times previously. I loved every minute of it.
“Obviously when I signed the season before last, the aim – which is still the aim now – was to win promotion and obviously we fell short.
“For me, as a player and for the club as well there’s unfinished business. I know the area, my kids were still in school here last year as well. The move ticked all the right boxes.”

The majority of supporters welcomed Colback back to the club with open arms, with some left devastated when he didn’t return last season.
With the resurgence of Ben Watson and Alfa Semedo, John Bostock and Samba Sow all signed last summer, Forest opted not to ask Newcastle for Colback last season.
Quality
He might have proved a decent player for the Reds, particularly after the restart but the 2019/20 campaign is now consigned to the past.

Colback will be hoping to hit the ground running with his new charges and will hope to add plenty more games to the 55 appearances he has already made for the Reds.
Forest will want to make amends for last season’s disappointing end and Colback’s arrival could help them push on this season.
