Nottingham Forest Under-23s enjoyed an afternoon to remember as they thrashed a youthful Wigan Athletic 5-1 away from home.
Academy director took to Twitter after the game to state his pleasure at the performance from the young group.
Jake Taylor kept up his decent start to the season with a stunning hat-trick, with in-form duo Virgil Gomis and Will Swan also notching.
Forest raced into a 4-0 lead after a rampant first 45 minutes and proved far too strong for a Wigan decimated this season due to ongoing financial issues.
The game took place at Wigan’s Christopher Park Training Ground and saw plenty of players get some decent minutes under their belts.
Taylor, Gomis and Swan showed exactly why they might have clubs chasing them this season on loan with brilliant performances.
Jordan Gabriel started the game at right-back and afterwards, Brazil took to Twitter to speak of his delight.
He believes the game was a lot closer than the scoreline suggested but was full of praise for the Reds.
Tougher game than the score line suggests but outstanding finishing today. I real threat in the final third and a joy to watch the quality we have at the top of the pitch… https://t.co/wZm3I83nZm

An announcement hasn’t been made as of yet as to who will replace Chris Cohen as the under-23 manager.
It doesn’t seem as though the group have let his departure affect them, however, and remain unbeaten this season.
Taylor, in particular, looks far too good to be spending a season playing in the under-23s and a loan move will surely be sought for him.
Brazil has worked wonders with the club’s younger players and it remains to be seen if any of the class of 2020/21 will make the grade in the first-team.
