Former Nottingham Forest striker Marlon Harewood has told Football League World that he is ‘miffed’ that Sabri Lamouchi isn’t playing Lewis Grabban and Lyle Taylor together.

The Reds added 30-year-old Taylor to their ranks in the summer and he started for the first time in last week’s defeat to Huddersfield Town.

Grabban scored 20 goals last season and he started the previous three games, missing good chances in games against QPR and Cardiff.

Harewood believes Lamouchi is missing a trick by not opting to play with both of them at the same time.

He told Football League World: “Personally I’d start them both. During my time playing with David Johnson, we scored 50 goals between us, teams were scared to play us at the City Ground because we were a force going forwards.

“I don’t see why you can’t start them both, you’ve got really good players behind them who can provide chances.

“Playing one up front, I just don’t believe in it. I’m a 4-4-2 guy and I’ve always been like it. When you’ve got Grabban and Taylor I just don’t see why they can’t start together, they are probably the best two strikers in the league.

“I’m quite miffed why they aren’t playing together.”

Forest desperately need to find a way to be more of a threat on the front foot, with their start to the season unacceptable.

The Reds threw away a play-off place last season and right now they are showing no signs of rectifying their horrendous form.

Plan B

It’s Forest’s worst start for 66 years and Lamouchi will know he needs to turn things around quickly.

Based on the performances of the first four games, the boss could certainly do a lot worse than operating with two strikers.

Some fans might be more sympathetic towards the manager if results were poor but Forest were at least having a go in each and every game.

Something has to change quickly and it’ll be interesting to see how Lamouchi plans to change his team’s fortunes this weekend.
