Nottingham Forest were beaten for the seventh consecutive time stretching back into last season, with Bristol City securing a 2-1 win at the City Ground.

The Reds were slow out of the blocks and found themselves 2-0 down inside 22 minutes through Andreas Weimann and Nahki Wells goals.

Forest did hit back at Luke Freeman scored the club’s first goal of the season with a superb long-range effort.

Throughout the 90 minutes, Forest found Daniel Bentley in stunning form between the posts and on another day the Reds might have scored five.

Following another defeat, we looked at the individual performances and marked them out of 10.

Brice Samba – 7

Was powerless with the two goals but kept Forest competitive in the second half with some decent handling.

Cyrus Christie – 6

Saw Bentley pull a left-footed rocket of his out of the top corner and was largely steady throughout.

Loic Mbe Soh – 7

Another solid showing from the young man. The ex-PSG player looks like he could become a solid player for the Reds.

Tyler Blackett – 5

Hindsight is a wonderful thing but how he got the nod over Michael Dawson remains to be seen. Seems cagey when put under pressure.

Nicholas Ioannou – 7

A solid showing for the £750,000 left-back. Started a little bit shaky defensively but his wand of a left-foot provided Forest with several good chances.

Jack Colback – 6

Still showing signs of ring-rust after so long without playing football but was good in the second half as Forest chased an equaliser.

Harry Arter – 6

Solid without being spectacular yesterday. Forest did miss his energy when he was withdrawn late on.

Alex Mighten – 7.5

One of Forest’s best players once again and deputised for Joe Lolley in a professional manner.

Luke Freeman – 7.5

Scored a peach of a goal and produced his best performance in a Forest shirt. Tried desperately to create an equaliser and really stepped up against the Robins.

Sammy Ameobi – 6

A frustrating afternoon for the winger who huffed and puffed but struggled to get Forest going.

Lewis Grabban – 6

Shouldn’t have the armband and it seems to be clearly impacting his performance. Tried hard but missed a good chance with a header in the second half.

Substitutions

Nuno Da Costa (Ameobi) – 5

Samba Sow (Arter) – 5

Lyle Taylor (Mighten) – 6
