Nottingham Forest will not be signing West Bromwich Albion winger Kamil Grosicki during the transfer window, according to Sportime.
It had been anticipated that the winger would be transferred to Olympiacos from the Baggies and then be sent straight to Forest on loan.
It would seem as though the Reds are no longer holding a desire to sign the Poland international, with the deal reportedly off.
Boss Sabri Lamouchi has suggested previously that another winger would be preferred with the squad somewhat short.
Joe Lolley has been carrying an injury, leaving Forest with Sammy Ameobi and youngster Alex Mighten to operate on the flanks.
Nuno Da Costa is at the club but he has been linked with a move away from the City Ground and hasn’t covered himself in glory on Trentside.
Grosicki signed for West Brom in January from Hull City and helped Slaven Bilic’s team to promotion during 2019/20.
During 2019/20 he scored seven goals and registered four assists and is largely considered as a proven Championship performer.
At 32 he wouldn’t be a signing for the future but with his wand of a left foot, he’d be capable of creating plenty of chances for a goal-shy Forest.
One stumbling block might be the players £25,000-a-week wage and if West Brom are playing hardball over that the Reds might be making the right call.
Forest are on a run of seven successive defeats but have added 12 new players to their ranks already this summer.
It’s high time for the Reds to let what they have settle and perhaps they will wait and potentially poach a Premier League player on loan in the next couple of weeks.
Forest are next in action in just under two weeks when they travel to Blackburn Rovers.
