Nottingham Forest have completed the signing of Fulham winger Anthony Knockaert on loan until January, the Championship club have confirmed.
The 28-year-old reunites with Chris Hughton after playing the best football of his career under the Forest boss at Brighton and Hove Albion.
Knockaert only completed a £10.8 million move to the Cottagers, making a loan spell from last season permanent.
The former Leicester City man is a proven Championship performer and will complement the Forest squad nicely.
A former France under-20 international, Knockaert was in sensational form during the 2016/17 campaign, firing 15 goals and claiming nine assists as Brighton won promotion.
Forest have been somewhat unbalanced out wide, with youngster Alex Mighten providing competition for Joe Lolley and Sammy Ameobi.
Lolley has been struggling with injury since the back end of last season and another option will allow him to completely recover.
Forest fans have certainly welcomed the arrival of Knockaert through the door and have taken to Twitter to welcome him to Nottingham.
The Fulham trickster wasn’t signed in time to play tomorrow at Blackburn but he will be in contention to face Rotherham on Tuesday evening.
Here is a selection of Tweets as Knockaert checks in at the City Ground.
We arguably have the best squad in the championship now, Chris needs time to mould the team but it’s up to these players to perform, no excuses.
