Nottingham Forest boss Chris Hughton has confirmed during his pre-match press conference that Harry Arter is in contention to play against Coventry City.

The midfielder has been missing for the last two games with an ankle problem but has bolstered the squad ahead of tomorrow’s home game.

Arter arrived from Bournemouth during the summer, penning a permanent deal at the City Ground.

He helped Fulham to promotion last season via the play-offs and his experience could be crucial in firing Forest up the table.

The 30-year-old missed games against Luton Town and Middlesbrough, with Jack Colback and Ryan Yates stepping into the breach.

Hughton will surely be delighted to have the player back available and discussed his midfielder in today’s press conference.

Arter has worn the armband for the Reds this season and his influence on the squad is already telling.

Forest’s midfielder is a veteran of over 100 Championship and 94 Premier League appearances.

He was one of the club’s standout summer additions and supporters will be delighted to see him back tomorrow night.

Forest desperately need to start winning games to propel themselves up the Championship table.

Arter is a little more forward thinking than Colback and Yates and his energetic presence is a useful asset.

Forest have fallen behind in all but one of their Championship games this season and that has to change.

The Reds have to start playing in the front foot from the first whistle – particularly at home.

With Arter in the team tomorrow night, Hughton – and the club’s supporters, will hope for a vastly improved performance.
