Scott McKenna has been rewarded for some fine Nottingham Forest performances with a place in Steve Clarke’s Scotland squad.
The boss has called up the centre-back despite him dropping out of the last squad through injury.
McKenna made a £3 million move to the City Ground in the summer in a deal that could eventually cost Forest closer to £6 million.
Since checking in on Trentside he has played six times for the Reds, becoming a mainstay in Chris Hughton’s team.

The 23-year-old has struck up a decent partnership with Tobias Figueiredo since the new manager checked in.
Now, McKenna will earn the chance to add to his 16 Scotland caps when the Tartan Army take on Serbia, Slovakia and Israel later this month.
Following news of his call-up plenty of Forest supporters were quick to praise the centre-back for his recent performances.
The Reds added 14 new players to their squad during the summer and at the moment McKenna looks like being the pick of the bunch.
With the defender being left-footed it does bring a balance to the Reds’ back four that hasn’t been there in recent years.
Here is a selection of Tweets from Forest supporters after McKenna was given the nod by Scotland.
Settled in very quickly & well - looks like he’ll be a real asset in the coming years.......well unless Olympiacos decide they want him 😁

Proper no nonsense centre half. Just quietly goes about is work. Brilliant in the air, good on the ball and he has done a job on every centre forward he has been up against. He will play at the highest level.

He's about the only one performing anywhere near good enough at the moment.
