England cricketer Stuart Broad has called on Nottingham Forest to use last night’s 2-1 win over Coventry as the catalyst for change.

The man who was England’s leading wicket taker in the 2-2 draw with Australia during the 2019 Ashes series has been discussing the Reds on Twitter.

Forest score their winning goal in the seventh minute of time added on last night, despite a second half where the Reds struggled badly.

Lyle Taylor’s penalty proved decisive, with the former Charlton striker neatly tucking home a late penalty.

Scott McKenna scored his first Forest goal to give the Reds a half-time lead.

Callum O’Hare scored just after the interval, however, and Coventry should have left the City Ground with all three points.

After the game, Broad took to Twitter to urge Forest to kick on after this smash and grab three points against the Sky Blues.

Hughton will be under no illusions as to the size of the task he has at the City Ground.

His record after six games now reads as won two, drawn three and lost one which isn’t too bad.

The job can’t be done in just a few weeks and these games will be teaching the boss new things about his squad all the time.

Forest were on the back foot for large parts of last night and that has to change at home.

With Wycombe arriving on Trentside on Saturday, Forest will see it as another opportunity to claim three more points.

It won’t be easy with the Chairboys claiming two wins on the spin against Sheffield Wednesday and Birmingham City.

If Forest could head into the international break with two successive wins, however, it will give them a good platform to build upon.
